FLINTA* in AI Professionals x Juniors Speed-Dating

Over the last two years, we were deeply shocked when we realized how male-dominated the AI domain is. So we decided to do our bit in changing this!

We successfully launched this event series in May, where 12 FLINTA* AI professionals connected with 24 FLINTA* students through a series of "speed dates". Each session paired one professional with two students for 5 minutes, allowing for focused, high-impact discussions on the most pressing questions. The event concluded with an open networking session, where participants had the opportunity to connect further over dinner.

The event turned out to be a great success and we received a lot of positive reviews from both the students and professionals. And we don't want to stop as the diversity question in AI/Machine Learning fields is not even near the fair resolution!

For this edition of the event, we will select 12 FLINTA* students passionate about AI/ML and give them the opportunity to network with 6 FLINTA* AI/ML professionals spanning various areas of development, from ML engineering to product management. The event will follow the same format, with short speed-dating sessions concluding with open networking over a delicious dinner provided by our partners. 

Agenda:

• 17:30-18:00: Doors open & networking
• 18:00-18:25: Event starts & introduction
• 18:25-19:25: 12 rounds of speed-dating sessions for students to interact with professionals. A "round" consists of a conversation between a professional and one-two students and it lasts five minutes.
• 19:25-20:00: Dinner & networking 

By promoting this event in Berlin Science Week, we are specifically looking forward to having students apply for our event. We are excited to see the next generation of AI/ML talent take part!
