Pianist SooJin Anjou is a soloist, chamber musician, and creator of bold interdisciplinary projects. A true global citizen — fluent in five languages and shaped by life in South Korea, the US, Hungary, and Germany — she made history at The Juilliard School in New York City as the only person ever to win both commencement prizes for music and the liberal arts.
SooJin Anjou’s passion for contemporary music has made her a trusted muse for composers since age 15. She has premiered works by legends like Valentin Silvestrov and Morton Subotnick, whose complete piano works she recorded to rave reviews—hailed as “magical and beguiling” by The Wire Magazine (London). Her repertoire spans over 40 concertos, from Bach to Berio, and the complete works of Ravel.
SooJin debuted with the Boston Symphony at just 16, playing Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto. For the past ten years, she has been a dedicated teacher at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK Berlin/JIB).
