Dr. Rodrigo Martínez-Abarca is a scientist focused on reconstructing and understanding the evolution of climate change throughout Earth's history, from a couple of centuries to millions of years. His research, conducted at RWTH Aachen University, focuses on the tropics, mainly Central and South Mexico, Central America and North Africa. He studied geosciences at UNAM (National Autonomous University of México), then moved to Germany to pursue his doctoral studies (TU Braunschweig) and postdoctoral stay (LIAG-Hannover). He co-chairs the Early Career Researchers Network of the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program and is a recent member of the Mexican National Researcher System (SNII).
