Dr. Giulia Glorani is the Scientific Coordinator of the Theory Department at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society (FHI) in Berlin, a role she’s held since 2023. Originally from Verona, Italy, Giulia’s journey has taken her from the canals of Venice - where she earned her M.Sc. degree in Science and Technology of Bio- and Nanomaterials at Ca’ Foscari University - to London’s King’s College and Verona for her PhD in Structural Biology. Before joining FHI, she explored the microscopic world of proteins as a postdoc at Freie Universität and the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine, specializing in cryo-electron microscopy and tomography. Beyond the project managment tasks, Giulia is passionate about science communication and community building, helping organize events like Long Night of the Sciences, Berlin Science Week, workshops for early-career researchers, and international conferences. She also served as a Science Ambassador, connecting Italian researchers with the German scientific landscape.
