Dr. Christoph Schatz is a biochemist and cell biologist with a PhD from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg, where he investigated the role of the small GTPase Ran in spindle assembly. He also holds an MSc in Biochemistry from the Free University of Berlin and completed his master’s research project at Harvard Medical School.
He has more than 20 years of experience in cancer research, biomarker science, and oncology drug development. After early research roles at EMBL and Epiontis, Christoph joined Bayer AG, where he held several laboratory and biomarker leadership positions. Since 2018, he has worked as a drug hunter within Bayer’s RED ONC organization, including his current role in Oncology Targeted Alpha Therapies.
