Annette Strauch-Davey’s 2026 Science Slam in Berlin demonstrates that research data management is an engaging and dynamic field rather than a purely theoretical one. Her presentation, "Prompting University RDM — The AI Will See You Now," explores the interplay between artificial intelligence and traditional support structures for data management at higher education institutions.

Annette Strauch-Davey is an RDM pioneer with nearly 20 years of experience bridging IT infrastructure and science communication (e.g. from the digital preservation project bwFLA at Ulm University via RDM at Siegen University and Base4NFDI and more). She has been driving the digital transformation across German universities by building strong nationwide networks. Currently, she serves as the RDM contact at the University of Witten/Herdecke (Faculty of Health) and contributes to supra-regional networks, including the project advisory board for GenDiMedNet (a collaborative network platform that advances gender- and diversity-sensitive medicine through interactive digital technologies) and the MaRDI Advisory Board within the NFDI. An influential voice in the community, she actively advocates for structural improvements in the data landscape and greater academic recognition for data professionals.
