How do we know an AI system is as good as its makers say? Adarsh Tripathi works on that question. As a student assistant in the research group "Digitalisation and Opening up Science" at the Weizenbaum Institute, he works on AI governance, open science and research data practices, and on making transparency and reproducibility part of everyday research.
Trained as an urban planner, he moved into policy work with the Government of India, leading the development of monitoring systems for national programmes and organising national conferences that brought multiple stakeholders together on governance and regulation. He holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School and is now completing a Master of Data Science, which lets him look at AI from both the policy and the technical side.
