BERLIN SCIENCE WEEK 2026 AT HAUS DER KULTUREN DER WELT
- Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) will serve as the Festival Centre of Berlin Science Week for the first time.
- Two major Berlin institutions join forces for one of Europe's largest science festivals.
- More than 120 Berlin Science Week programme items will be held at HKW from 6 to 8 November.
Berlin, Germany. 31 March 2026. In the first year after its tenth anniversary, Berlin Science Week moves to a new main venue. From 6 to 8 November 2026, Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) will serve as the sole Festival Centre of Berlin Science Week, which transforms Berlin into a stage for scientific ideas every year with more than 350 events.
"HKW is one of Germany's most respected cultural institutions, one that has been bringing together international perspectives for decades and stands, like few other venues in Berlin, for open dialogue between culture and the public — connecting disciplines and making Berlin's identity as a cosmopolitan metropolis visible. Berlin Science Week has been doing exactly that for science for more than ten years. Through this partnership, we are reinforcing this shared ambition by embedding science more deeply in the cultural fabric of the city and creating new spaces for conversation," says Dr Christian Rauch, Director of Berlin Science Week.
"Berlin Science Week has established itself as a highly successful festival that makes science tangible. Our partnership creates the opportunity to connect these approaches at Haus der Kulturen der Welt with artistic, social and embodied forms of knowledge. As a place of hospitality and conviviality, HKW provides the setting for a programme that does not treat knowledge as something fixed, but as something that unfolds through exchange and shared learning," says Prof. Dr. Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, Artistic Director and Chief Curator of Haus der Kulturen der Welt.
From 6 to 8 November, HKW will serve as the platform for more than 120 Berlin Science Week programme items. It will also function as a hub for interested visitors throughout the entire festival period.
