Inspiration Stage | Event Entry
Welcome to our page for Speakers on the Inspiration Stage! We’re excited to have you join this year's festival at the CAMPUS.
Here, you will find the essential information you need for your talk, including the festival timeline, preparation steps, and details on the publication and communication of your talk.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly at campus@berlinscienceweek.com.
Our Inspiration Stage producer, Jéssica Nakazima, will contact you to reconfirm the details from your application and discuss further scheduling. Jéssica will be your point of contact for all the technical and logistical matters. For content and presentation support, reach out to our colleague Clara Roca-Sastre.
Participants selected for the Inspiration Stage will receive an official offer, based on which an invoice will be issued before the festival.
As an Inspiration Stage Speaker, you will attend a preparatory workshop to enhance your public speaking skills. Workshops will take place on-site in Berlin or online, depending on your availability and location. Jessica will reach out to you to coordinate this. You will also receive a presentation template and guidelines to help make your talk engaging and clear.
We recommend that you start working on your presentation early, so that you have a rough idea of its structure and content, so that you have a first draft that you can then refine during the workshop.
The details of your talk are now clear, and you are ready to go. wonderful! Please complete the form below with all the required information. The deadline is 12 September. This is a crucial step, as this information will be published on our website with the programme launch.
Please only submit the finalised version of your description. The Berlin Science Week Team will then include this information in our programme calendar alongside the other speakers. Please note that further edits will only be possible in exceptional cases.
Share your talk details with us here:
The URLs for your talk will be available with the programme launch, on 25 September.
The Berlin Science Week Team will check all the event entries for the programme during this period. We will be in touch to confirm that your event entry is complete and ready to be published, or if we have any additional questions.
The Berlin Science Week programme will be launched on 25 September, marking the start of our citywide advertising campaign and online promotion. We encourage you to take advantage of this momentum to promote your talk!
Berlin Science Week generates strong visibility throughout the city (through posters and the Berlin Science Week Magazine with Tagesspiegel) and online (through digital ads and social media posts). To maximise your reach, and benefit your individual event, we strongly recommend you run your own dedicated communication efforts in parallel.
To support you in promoting your event at Berlin Science Week, we’ve prepared copy and visual assets for you to download, which are available here:
Please remember that, upon registering, you agreed to include Berlin Science Week in all of your communication efforts for the event(s). Further information on how to brand your event can be found in our Branding & Communication Guide, which will be published in due course.

Online coaching sessions (2 hours) will cover structuring your speech, building your confidence on stage, engaging with your audience, and enhancing your overall presentation skills. They will be in English or German, depending on your talk’s language. Each group will have 3–4 speakers and will cover:
- 30 min: Mindset, key skills & tools for impactful public speaking
- 3 × 15-min talks + 15-min structured feedback per speaker
Please prepare your speech and presentation in advance. This will provide the coach with a foundation to guide you effectively (see above).
During these group sessions, you will also have the opportunity to meet fellow speakers and connect with colleagues who are also presenting their projects on the Inspiration Stage.
What to do now:
We will email you a sign up link and ask you to choose your preferred time slot. You’ll receive a briefing beforehand to help you prepare.
After your coaching session, please record your 12-minute talk and send us the video by 19 October. This serves as preparation for the Inspiration Stage and as a backup in case you are unable to attend at short notice due to illness.
The video does not need to be high-production: good sound and image quality are enough. A well-lit room, a camera or phone on a tripod, and a microphone (including those from good-quality headphones) will work perfectly. Please send the file in a format compatible with standard video software (e.g. MP4, MOV, AVI).
Please send this as a downloadable link to campus@berlinscienceweek.com
As we finalise the production plans, we will need your PPT Presentation for your talk. Please submit this in PDF, PPT, MP4 format via email or a downloadable link to campus@berlinscienceweek.com
