Dr. Christian Rauch

Christian is Festival Director at Berlin Science Week, where he works with the team to make science a bigger part of Berlin’s cultural life. He likes bringing together people and ideas that don’t usually find themselves in the same room to see what happens next.

Trained as a physicist, Christian started out researching semiconductors before becoming increasingly curious about how science connects with the world outside the lab. Since then, he has worked across science, culture and education, creating festivals, spaces, tools and other experiments for exploring ideas together. Somewhere along the way, imagination became a recurring theme in his work which he explores through his own projects as well as teaching creativity and futures thinking at French business school.

He enjoys good questions more than easy answers, has a weakness for ambitious ideas, and is generally happiest when a conversation ends somewhere nobody expected it to.
