Ernst-Joachim Steffens

Being a freelance consultant for connected industrial production and logistics, Ernst-Joachim Steffens is engaged in various 5G campus network R&D activities, among them the 5G project “CampusDynA” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and “5G-COMPASS” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. Until YE 2018, he worked as research director at Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs), with a focus on industrial communication and related topics such as Industrie 4.0, Industrial IoT, cloud robotics and artificial intelligence. For several years, Ernst-Joachim Steffens represented Deutsche Telekom in Workgroup “Research and Innovation” of the German Plattform Industrie 4.0.

Als freiberuflicher Berater für vernetzte industrielle Produktion und Logistik engagiert sich Ernst-Joachim Steffens in verschiedenen 5G-Projekten, darunter „CampusDynA“, gefördert vom Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, und „5G-COMPASS“, gefördert vom Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr. Bis Ende 2018 war er als Research Director bei den Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs) mit Arbeitsschwerpunkten in den Themen Industrie 4.0, Industrial IoT, Cloud Robotics und künstliche Intelligenz tätig. Über mehrere Jahre repräsentierte Ernst-Joachim zudem die Deutsche Telekom AG in der Arbeitsgruppe “Forschung und Innovation” der Plattform Industrie 4.0.
