Pint of Science: Research at Your Local Bar

Pint of Science is an annual international event in which scientists leave their labs and head to bars to explain their research in simple terms, making it accessible to everyone. No prior knowledge is necessary!

This out-of-season event is held as part of Berlin Science Week and follows the usual format: three scientists from different fields present their projects in short, entertaining talks, showing complex concepts with clear visuals and examples. After each talk, the audience has the opportunity to ask the speakers questions about anything they find curious. This allows the public to fully understand the problems being solved and the importance of the research.

The lack of traditional slides, the relaxed setting, and the entertaining format make this experience feel like a conversation between the audience and the scientists.
