Environmental empathy and multisensory experiences in the cityscape
Can being in a city building such as the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) still evoke a sense of environment in urban dwellers?
Join us for a multi-sensory exploration of HKW in Berlin and its surroundings to discover how everyday urban experiences can foster deeper connections with nature in a cityscape. We will use multi-sensory engagement (i.e., vision, smell, sound, feel) as an embodied relational practice of cultivating environmental empathy and environmental memory in a cityscape including a memory mapping and multi-sensory walk around HKW that will culminate with a dialogue with other participants to share sensory walk experiences and stories of environmental memories.
