Before the Doors Open: A Sneak Peek Inside the New Botanical Museum
What does a museum look like just before it becomes a museum? The Botanical Museum Berlin is still closed to the public. Its historic building has been extensively renovated, the new exhibition is taking shape – and some of its most extraordinary objects have already moved in.
During this exclusive sneak peek, we open the doors before the museum officially reopens. Discover spaces still in the making, take a look behind the scenes, and encounter some of the first objects and their surprising stories: from plant sexuality to a giant sequoia whose history reaches back to the Cold War.
Botanical museums are rare worldwide. In Berlin, one of them is currently being reimagined: a museum about plants, fungi and algae – and the many ways in which their lives are intertwined with our own. In the future, the museum will tell these stories anew, through science, culture and history.
