Sebastian Neitsch is one half of the artist duo Quadrature, together with Juliane Götz. Since around 2015, the two have been working at the intersection of art, science, and technology, through performances, installations, sculptures, and audiovisual works. Their practice treats technology not only as a tool but as a medium for “reading and writing realities,” drawing on data as their primary artistic material.
Together, they have received numerous recognitions, including Honorary Mentions at the Prix Ars Electronica in 2015 and 2018, as well as residencies and grants from institutions such as Stiftung Kunstfonds, Akademie Schloss Solitude, La Becque, PODIUM Esslingen, and ZKM’s Hertz-Lab.
Alongside his artistic work, Neitsch regularly engages in teaching and public speaking. He has led workshops and courses at Bauhaus Universität Weimar, the Design Academy Eindhoven, the University of Art Linz, and other institutions in Madrid and Reykjavík.

Based in Brandenburg, Quadrature continues to work on projects that combine meticulous technical experimentation with poetic inquiry, bridging the distance between space science and human imagination. Both are members of an association dedicated to transforming a former radio research facility into a space for collaboration, sustainablity and culture.
