Roman Lipski is a Berlin-based contemporary artist working at the forefront of art, science, and emerging technologies. Originally celebrated for his atmospheric landscape paintings, Lipski has become a pioneer of AI and quantum art. Since 2016, he has collaborated with scientists to develop experimental tools such as the AI Muse and Quantum Blur, using machine learning and quantum computing to explore new aesthetic possibilities.

His latest project, Quantum Brush, was co-developed with Moth Quantum and DESY scientists. As an artist and co-developer, Lipski helped shape the tool based on his creative process and visual experimentation. The open-source digital painting tool translates hand-drawn strokes into quantum algorithms via four distinct brushes—each reflecting a different quantum effect. Designed for today’s noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices, the brushes have been successfully executed on IQM’s Sirius quantum computer.

Lipski’s work is featured in major international collections, including the Julia Stoschek Foundation and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
