Matthew Hansen

Matthew Hansen is a researcher, curator, and visual documentarian whose practice explores relationships between people, places, histories, and everyday forms of encounter. His work moves between research, exhibition-making, photography, and moving images, with a particular interest in questions of space, memory, belonging, proximity, and care.

Working as a Researcher and Curator at S A V V Y Contemporary: The Laboratory of Form-Ideas in Berlin, he contributes to research processes, exhibition development, project coordination, and public-facing programming. Alongside his curatorial practice, his photographic and visual work develops through sustained observation of urban spaces, social relations, and the traces of history within everyday environments. Together, these practices reflect an interest in how we see, understand, and inhabit the worlds around us.
