Dr Lina Persechini

Dr Lina Persechini is a Scientific Programme Manager at Research Ireland, where she leads on managing some of Research Ireland’s strategic investments within the Rinn Network in Semiconductors and Medical Devices. The Rinn Network is Ireland’s flagship research and innovation network, bringing together seven large-scale Rinn centres and connecting industry with world-class research expertise, talent and infrastructure to accelerate innovation and real-world impact.

Before joining Research Ireland, Lina obtained her PhD at Trinity College Dublin and spent time at Technological University Dublin and the University of Southampton. She subsequently held an editorial leadership role at Nature Communications within the Springer Nature portfolio, where she managed a team of professional editors across the physical sciences. Lina also worked closely with the international research community on scientific publishing, peer review, and research assessment.

Drawing on experience spanning research funding, publishing, and research programme management, Lina works at the interface of research, policy, and innovation, with a particular interest in how research ecosystems can generate societal, economic, and public value.
