Jan Lamkin

Jan Lamkin is an entrepreneur, investor and innovation specialist with more than five decades of experience in advanced manufacturing and technology-driven business development. As owner of SBE BV Piping Machine-apparatenbouw Maintenance Water Technology, in Eijsden (Maastricht, NL), based in the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion, he has built an ecosystem where industry, engineering and applied research come together.

He is actively involved in the development of pilot projects supporting the Einstein Telescope, contributing to the realization of next-generation beam pipe technologies through open innovation initiatives with partners like RWTH Aachen University and CERN. His work focuses on translating scientific ambition into scalable industrial solutions and strengthening cross-border collaboration between academia, industry and public stakeholders.

In addition to his entrepreneurial activities, Jan serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at Maastricht University, where he supports innovation, entrepreneurship and experience transfer. He is also a mentor and board member of several technology companies and has been awarded a Royal Honour for his longstanding contribution to society and regional innovation.
