Irina Demina is a Berlin-based choreographer, artistic researcher and educator. She earned a Master’s degree in Choreography in 2016 from the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin. Since 2008, she has been developing her own projects and working internationally as a dance artist. Her performances and choreographic works have received national and international recognition (among others Pina Bausch Fellowship 2021, resident artist at Seoul Dance Center / South Korea, prize at the competition “The best German Dance Solo”). Her work consistently engages with questions of embodiment, particularly within intermedial and phygital (physical + digital) contexts. In 2024 she founded “SCARBOD Lab” — a transdisciplinary platform for experimental, body-based formats at the intersection between science and arts. She is currently artist in residence at the Centre for Cultural Techniques of HU Berlin.
