#UNDERMYSKIN
#UNDERMYSKIN is a dance participatory/interactive film that highlights the impact of social networks on societal polarisation. Specifically analyzing the impact of Echo Chamber and Bubble Filter phenomen on the personal identity of young and old generations.
A dance work that addresses social-antropological issues by merging dance with cinematography and media technologies. It is inspired by true stories extrapolated from social networks (instagram, tiktok, facebook) and experiences of the protagonist dancers themselves. A critical reflection on the toxic and beneficial use of social media apps through an artistic fictional dance narration of stories of undemocratic beauty standards, excessive addiction, isolation and sometimes dramatic resolutions.
YOUR INTERACTION is crucial! Indeed, the audience is invited to make choices in order to continue the screening. The film is structured around a central 360° scene. Explore with the cursor the 360° and select one of five #HASHTAGS, linked to five different episodes. You can select the same expisode several times and make other choices. Use the 'skip' function at the bottom right to skip scenes you have already seen.
#UNDERMYSKIN wants to invite to a collective reflection on the societal-political implications of today's massive use of socials. But it is also meant to be a provocation to ask the scientific field to undertake, in parallel with the political class, concrete actions and educational campaigns for the new generations, inviting to a healthy and respectful use of socials.
