AC Biode (Japan) is developing AC battery systems and catalysts for plastic chemical recycling, and upcycle ash into adsorbent. Their product Plastalyst recycles the most difficult to recycle plastics into monomers at low temperatures, to make new plastics. Recently, we successfully depolymerized PET into methanol. It seems to be the first time in history that this conversion has been successfully completed. Plastalyst recycles organic waste and plastic waste into chemicals such as monomers, hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methanol. Uniquely, the process is below 200°C and only using water as a solvent.
