2021

Tim Langhorst studied chemistry and biotechnology and obtained his B.Sc., at Hochschule Niederrhein (University of Applied Sciences) in Krefeld, Germany. During his bachelor studies, he did an apprenticeship and worked as a certified Chemical Technician at a specialty chemical company. In 2019, he graduated with his master’s degree in Molecular and Applied Biotechnology at RWTH Aachen University. During his master studies, Tim focused on developing biotechnological processing routes for the chemical industry. In particular, he investigated intracellular metabolic networks to reuse carbon dioxide. In 2019, Tim joined the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics at RWTH Aachen University as a PhD student, and since 2020, he has been a member of the Energy and Process System Engineering Group at ETH Zürich. His research focus is on the life cycle assessment of emerging carbon capture and utilization processes.
