Franz von Nussbaum

Franz von Nussbaum is Head of Life-Science Chemistry Department at Nuvisan Innovation Campus Berlin as Executive Vice President. He obtained his Ph.D. in the group of Wolfgang Steglich at the University of Munich on the biosynthesis of fungal alkaloids. In the group of Samuel J. Danishefsky at Columbia University, NY, he synthesized anti-cancer natural products as a postdoc. Since 2000, within Bayer Pharmaceutial Research and Crop Science he worked in bacteriology,cardiology, fungicides, pulmonology and oncology projects from target to clinical candidate as a project lead and department head in medicinal chemistry as well as agrochemistry.He has supported the EFMC and the Medicinal Chemistry Division of the GDCh in different roles. In Berlin, he is a lecturer for medicinal chemistry at the Technical University.
