#GoGreen UI/UX: Let’s Change Consumer Behaviors

XU Exponential University of Applied Sciences | Prof. Dr. Petyo Budakov

The 'ugly' fruits and vegetables tackling climate change.

People eat, move, stay warm and consume in a manner that gambles with the future of our planet. This behaviour must change and UX Design can play a vital part of that change. This hands-on session will shed more light on developing attractive digital tools which could change the pace of decarbonisation and protect our planet.

Picking ugly food, buying only what we need, storing food wisely – we hear these guidelines more and more, as efforts to reverse the food waste habit increase. Preventing food waste is not a standalone challenge: it’s a global and systemic one, which leads to economic losses, CO2 emissions, and food insecurity. This talk will share some findings and practical tips  about creating a habit-forming mobile app which aims not only to reduce the waste of fruits and vegetables but also to create a culture of sustainability among the Gen Z.

Moreover, this performance will illustrate the implementation of the so-called ‘Eco-Service Design’ in various fields of the digital marketing. This performance proposes the so-called ‘ECO-Service Design’ (ECO-SD) method which integrates eco-design and service design to conceptualise new environmentally sustainable digital marketing services.
