Food Security: The Path of the Hunger Hurricane
What are the implications of the ongoing food crises?
Over 20% of the global population or more than 1.6 billion people are currently food insecure. The last UN Food Systems Summit emphasised that the world’s food system is irretrievably broken. Climate crisis and biodiversity loss, the war in Ukraine as well as pandemic-related disruptions and state responses to high food prices put populations around the world under the threat of hunger.
This table will discuss both short-term and long-term implications of the ongoing food crisis as well as possible immediate steps that can contribute to global food security.
This table is organised together with Bayer AG.
