What is platform economy and how is it changing the world of work?

Delivery and on-demand online services have become a flagship of platform work and a lucrative enterprise model. With the current revenue of 204 billion US dollars and growing exponentially, platform economy is expected to show a double profit in five years. For employees platform work means more flexibility and an easy-earned income, but also less security in employment rights.

In this Deep Dive video Maren Borkert, Professor for Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, Research Coordinator at Fairwork, explains what challenges platform work entails and how her project aims to improve the working conditions in the up-and-coming industry.
